People Block

You can build a directory of faculty and/or staff by utilizing "people blocks" containing a "person item" for each desired person.

Below is a sample of how the People Block will render on your Web page.

Each person item automatically has a link to a page of additional information, which is maintained by the Web help desk. Contact the Web help desk if you need information added to this page or if the page is not needed.

To add a photo to an abstract, send the photo along with the faculty member's BearPass email address to the Web help desk.

Best practices

  • Use current, professional photos that encourage connections.
  • Review and update details for each person annually.
  • Connects a person to a program or service.
  • Contact information is same as University people search results.

Adding a person item

  1. Go to the Faculty and Staff page.
  2. Click on the red dot next to Open People Block.
  3. Select the red dot next to Create and connect person item
    The Person Item Information page opens.
  4. In the BearPass Email text box, enter the person's BearPass Email address, which is their email address without the @MissouriState.edu portion
    (example: JohnDoe).
  5. Enter any other information you would like displayed on the right side of the profile in the Abstract text area.
    Name, position, email, phone, and office are retrieved from the official University records maintained by human resources.
  6. Click Submit Criteria.
    Note: This process can take 15-20 seconds. Please be patient.

Changing person item order

  1. Go to the Faculty and Staff page.
  2. Click the dot for Open People Block.

  3. Click the dot for Edit list of person items.
    The Edit Link Element page opens.
  4. In the Edit Link Element page, click Edit Page Order.
    The Edit Page Order page opens.
  5. Click on the person you want to move and use the arrows on the left side of the list to move them up or down.
  6. Once you have the correct order, click OK.

Disconnecting a person item

  1. Go to the Faculty and Staff page.
  2. Click the dot for Open People Block.
  3. Click the dot for Edit list of person items.
    The Edit Link Element page opens.
  4. Click Remove Items from List.
    The Remove Items from List page opens.
  5. Check the box next to the person you wish to remove. Click OK.

Updating profile information

Information on profiles is maintained by multiple offices.

Send all update requests to the Web help desk at webpress@missouristate.edu and the update will be routed to the appropriate office for processing.
